THE ARAGONESE REGALIA

The Double Crown of Aragon (14th c.) and the golden throne of King Martin I are kept in the Museum of the Cathedral of Barcelona. The royal crowns made of gilded silver and adorned with enamel and the throne were bequeathed to the Cathedral Treasury by King Martin I upon his heirless death ending the reign of the House of Barcelona in the Kingdom of Aragon. According to the tradition, the bigger of the crowns belonged to Martin I and the smaller one was that of Queen Yolande of Bar, the second wife of King John I.
